When I got a little deeper into playing online, I would really start researching the casinos before making deposits; searching forums for player complaints and such. From there I had compiled such a large collection of notes on what online casinos I felt the most comfortable playing at, I decided to turn my notes into articles and publish them on the web for others to read.
Why I gamble online
Pretty simple for me really, I gamble online for the same reason I gamble at my local casino, I enjoy the rush of winning, losing and winning back large amounts of cash! I started playing online about 7 years ago, researching the best online casinos to play at and then finding free money promos, or ‘no deposit bonuses’. Pretty simple really, you play the free chip and if you win, you make a small deposit and keep playing your odds until your ready to cash out. If you lose the free chip, you simply find another online casino with a free promo and try again. You can do this I would say maybe 50+ times as there are a large number of online casinos that both accept US players and offer no deposit bonuses. That said, I would later learn there are only a good handful of online casinos you really want to deposit it. As with all things online, some sites are more reputable than others.
How I came to review online casinos
After trying out a large number of online casinos, I started making notes about each one I would play at. I did not set out with the goal of making money by reviewing casinos, it started as just a
boy man with a hobby and a small website. At this point, I had just run a few online rap battle websites that had tested my SEO skills. This was my third time ranking a site #1 for my desired keywords. Given that back around 5 years it was much easier to do that now, but who knew it would turn into a full-blown job (double check, no typo! Would hate to put blow job). So what did I do next? Well in-between my regular job and drinking a lot of beers I slowly built up my first online casino review site and ranked it #1 in the SERPS. At this time I added some casino affiliate links to my reviews and went back to work pretty much forgetting about my website for a few months. Next thing I know I am making a little money off this. One thing turned into two (whatever that means), and I was doing this full time putting my day job to the side.. Soon to quit and with now only beer and my website on my plate, I was about to really cut into this.
Don’t you just love when everyone tells you what you can’t do? If it wasn’t for that I would have never had the drive to make it. I enjoy challenges and destroying them.. So against the advice of my family, friends, and mentors I took the nontraditional route to work; which by the way really saves on gas! I gave up my 9-5 and started working online day and night putting all my eggs into one basket. Hoping to come out with triplets? I’m getting off track from the h3. Having ranked my first site #1 I rode that for a while, coming up for almost every result in Google (back then there was no limit to how many times a site would come up in the SERPs. All different URLs from the same site on page one of Google). I was killing it! Then came my first round of what would be a stampede of Google animals! The Panda first hit in early 2011, while causing a lot of worries, I was not really affected by this update as it mainly targeted low-quality sites with low-quality articles. Then after several refreshes came the 2012 Penguin. Now unlike the panda, I really found this awkwardly shaped animal to bite! Not that I was doing any black hat at the time, but I did have a few not so high-quality links pointing to my site after hiring a cheap and not so well monitored SEO company to link build for me. While this pretty much took out one of my sites I started working quickly on another, with even better quality content and being much more careful who I like to and who links to me. This here animal came with many refreshes as well, but to this day I remain on top of for many keywords. It now helps that my sites are 5+ years old with an insane amount of content. At this point my rankings just become a numbers game, with enough pages in the serps I am bound to come up for some search terms no matter how the big G updates!
A Typical Day in 2014
To finish after lunch.. Yes, I do eat lunch typically so good I’ve already got a head start on this section. If this part doesn’t get finished.. Just know I must have had a really good lunch.
Okay, I’m back, lunch was obviously terrible. So what’s my recipe for a typical day?
- 1 morning coffee
- a check of the email (usually about 1 hour)
- a peak of the forums
- posting of 3-5 articles written from the day before
- a little social network action
- writing of 3-5 articles
That’s about right, providing there are no problems. Websites glitch, urls need updating, SEO research is a weekly thing and over 100 other things I do but would never remember until I’m doing it. Is it hard? No! Time-consuming and sometimes very tedious, most defiantly. Worth it? That depends on if you like your current boss more then you like yourself.. Because my boss is……. Simply amazing!
That said, I do hope you enjoy my work, website and the time I put into it. If you really read all of this, thank you! Play safe and gamble wisely America!
